Best image/gallery plugin?

Hi,

I am looking for a plugin to display images/galleries on my test blog. I don’t want to use flickr or anything but just be able to upload images to mysite, possibly create thumbnails via the plugin and display them accordingly.

So whats the best plugin to use for the above? I’ve been through the codex and there appears to be a number of options.
