• I was so not looking forwarding to incorporating a database into a WordPress website when a client needed one with various edit and read-only access levels which was simple for his users. I searched a bit before finding Participants Database — what a relief to find this one-of-a-kind, well-written plugin with excellent support (and it’s FREE?)!

    I’m not as well versed in PHP as I am databases, so there was a learning curve for me. The author was responsive and helpful. (And is probably relieved my implementation is done!)

    In the end, we have:

    ? 38 fields — Radio Buttons, Check Boxes, Text Areas, Text Lines, and Dropdown Lists;

    ? Email notifications to 4 individuals based on whether 3 email fields are populated and the form editor chooses a specified radio button;

    ? Custom templates for Adding, Editing, and Viewing records;

    ? Edit access based on 3 user role types; read-only access based on 1 role type;

    ? “Tabbed” view for easy reading in Edit, Add, and Read pages; and

    ? A very satisfied client!

    Custom Roles added via Registration Magic (paid; can probably find something free/better; overwrites “sender” field, if custom email notifications used/set up); Tabbed view courtesy of Tabby Tabs (highly recommend; easy right out of the box); and a couple of other plugins to customize the registration/user access experience.

    Probably 90 percent of the implementation was successful and easily (learning curve notwithstanding) due to Participants Database. And now that I feel comfortable with its features, I’m pretty sure I’ll be using it on other sites.

    I only leave reviews when a plugin impresses or hugely disappoints me. I know what goes into something like this, and I have praise only for Participants Database.

    Thank you, again, for all of your help.
