• Create custom maps that link to your posts!

I spent a rainy Sunday morning testing out all the WordPress mapping plugins and found this to be both the most versatile and the easiest to use. This is the only plugin I found that is actually free. Many of the other “free” plugins put most of the features in a pro version. Even worse, many require you to set up a google API key attached to your credit card (so who really knows how much you’ll pay for that one). I also discovered that many of the fully-featured plugins have a complicated interface.

Thanks! And sorry to hear you had to spend all morning drudging through plugins!

I did want to elaborate on the point about the Google API key. This plugin used to use Google Geocoder by default, but now can’t because it’s become a paid service. I intend to adjust the plugin to make that optional (much like how the plugin allows integration with MapQuest). Not sure how useful it would be, but I assume the Google geocoder is still better than nominatum, and even if you give up a credit card number for using it, I assume it still should not charge anyone.

Thanks again for the review! And thanks to leaflet, and openstreetmap for making all this free stuff possible!

Hi guys, I am new to Leaflet. I would like to know how does one create custom maps that link to your posts?
