I have this huge project landing my way soon, I have to update every product (1000 + variations) on a woocommerce site from a csv database.

I see there are a few options in terms of plugins like WP All Import and Product CSV Import Suite that might do the job. But before I choose a path to follow I wanted to ask the hive brain which method is considered the best. Subjective opinions are welcome.

    Thanks

    Hi there,

If you want to import products into WooCommerce, and there aren’t any special requirements, you can use the built in importer as outlined here:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/product-csv-importer-exporter/

If you have more complex products that use extensions like our Bookings extension, you can use our Product CSV Import Suite here: https://woocommerce.com/products/product-csv-import-suite/

Thanks Kenin, the linked guide only mentioned variations in the opening paragraph. Are there any guides on using the stock importer to bring in variations? Don’t really want to do it blind

We typically recommend that our users create a fully configured variable product on their site. Make sure to set up categories, tags, pricing, and all other elements that you need for that product. Then you can export that product and then use it as a template for the remainder of your products that need to be imported.
