Best OS For WP

Hello all,

I’m currently in the process of backing up my WP files to switch to a new hosting provider. I currently run a Windows 2003 server, however is this the best to use? I want to get rid of the /index.php tags in my URL’s and I’ve heard that switching to a Linux OS would solve this.

Any advice or tips I should be aware of? Thanks in advance.
