I have JetPack Free installed for my site now. Regarding brute force attacks I would like to know if it is necessary to use a plugin that hides the wp-login page?

In the free version I see no possibility to hide the login page, and reading your docs I dont see this too for your Premium version.

But what if I would like to use one, what would you recommended regarding hiding the default login page and security as I read 1 of the plugins is considered as being safe.

And is it NEEDED to hide my login page or are numerous websites ( the vast majority) using Jetpack Free not hiding their wp-login actually never compromized as they use good credentials?

    Hi there,

I wouldn’t say it’s necessary. Many people do recommend it as an additional security measure, though. But for advice on that it’s really better to ask in the general support forums – in this forum specifically we can only advise you on Jetpack’s features, and Jetpack does not contain any option to let you hide the default login page.

On my own site I only use Jetpack Protect, along with Jetpack’s Secure Sign-On (SSO) feature, that lets me log into WP-Admin using my linked WordPress.com account instead.
