Best Practices for Blog Archiving?

I can find no information on whether it’s better to list your most recent blogs in their entirety on the main blog page and then archive the others, or list short blurbs describing each blog topic on the main blog page that link to the complete post on another page. The former strategy causes scrolling and the latter causes additional clicks. Which strategy is better for the user?
