• Hey Gang,
I am sure this has been asked/answered, but my search for this topic, tbh, was a bit overwhelming.

    Try to be brief here:
Our agency is completing a massive rebranding campaign.
Our current WordPress site is E-BusinessOnline.Com and our new agency name, and completely new agency website is eComCatalyst.Com.

All of the content on the NEW site is fresh, new content, except we DID import all of the old (very old) blog posts into the blog on the new site.

We never focused very hard on SEO, backlinks, etc., so I’m not super afraid of losing any serious traffic, but would like to know best practices for redirects.

My goal here is to simply make the old domain, e-businessonline.com simply REDIRECT permanently to eComCatalyst.com. That being said, should the OLD blog posts that got copied over have 301 redirects configured? If so, is there an easy way to do this? (the URL’s on the new site, obviously, will be different than the original).

    Thanks in advance,
    Fred

  • If it is only a matter of forwarding the old domain to the new one without paying attention to URLs, then you would have to set this in the domain administration. You don’t need WordPress for this. Contact your hoster’s support team to clarify this.
