We have a site which runs on a completely separate server. That site is dynamic and has forums and things, but it does not use Apache or SQL or PHP. It uses a special object-oriented database.

At the same time, we would like to use WordPress for the home page itself for various reasons, including the fact it looks so nice. ??

So what we are thinking of is installing our WordPress instance at a place like wpengine.com and doing a redirect of some kind so people headed for the main site (e.g. https://www.oursite.net) end up at the WordPress site (e.g. https://home.oursite.net).

Is there any advice of the best way to do this redirect, taking into account we don’t want to lose search index traffic, etc.?

    Thanks,

    doug
