What is the best step to take in changing a theme without losing any customization?

I would like to change from my storefront child theme to deli. Please I want to know the best step to follow, I don’t want to lose the customization I already made.

    Expecting your responses.

    Thank you.

    Hey Bennn.

Any theme will be slightly different and may have different settings so changing a theme may not display the same settings as the previous theme you had.

As deli is a child theme of Storefront you should be able to enable this and see what it looks like but some of the original storefront settings maybe disabled for styling purposes within the child theme.

When you say customizations if you are referring to CSS then I would suggest that you store that code in a plugin like jetpack. Also bear in mind that with each themes styling being different custom css that would work on storefront may not work on Deli as it’s a different design.

You could also use a plugin like Theme Preview to preview the theme first without affecting your current theme.

Thank you so much Stuart, I have done the preview and there is so much work to be done. I am not a website guru so I think I will just be with the storefront child theme until when I am ready to face the work.

    Thanks for all your support.
