• I made a child of TwentyEleven that I am modifying locally (so I can’t post the page for you to see.) Apparently, all “status” posts are formatted such that the post shows the administrative avatar with the word “STATUS” above it.

I want to change the word “status.” I found the code location–line 16 of the content-status.php file. Since I’d like to made modifications to my child theme, how can I alter this line within MY functions.php file?

  • I believe what you’d want to do instead of via your functions.php file is make a copy of content-status.php inside your child theme directory and simply edit that file itself. This will override the parent theme’s version of the file.
