    Hey guys,

I’ve been making websites with CSS PHP and more over the last two years, I know a few things but not nearly enough! Now editing WP themes is as hard as understanding Hebrew, well at least for me.

I bought a Lynda.com DVD on WP and the guy basically used “exercise files” for all that mattered he left all the coding out so the DvD is useless!

Can you point me in the right direction to where I can learn to edit my themes? Any DVDs, websites(with video) that I can look at or just an online curse that I can take to learn this stuff?

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks,
    L.C.

I’ve never read any books with regards to wordpress but you could have a look at Digging into WordPress by Chris Coyier and Jeff Star.

Digging into WordPress is great. Also consider using a themeframe work, such as Thesis, Genesis or Headway. In my experience, these let you focus on designing with CSS and HTML, and don’t require lots of PHP knowledge–or any at all.

    Lee,

I am asking myself this very same question. How do you feel about the products or resources you have tried in order to learn WordPress? I want to set up a plan on how to learn html and css to edit WordPress themes. I am currently using elegant themes at this time. Would love to know what has been helpful to you and what hasn’t.

    Thanks in advance!!!
    E
