• Hello

I have looked at various docs on wp.org but am unsure on the best way to setup a new WP based website.

This is what i need to do:

I am rebuilding https://www.localhoney.co.uk as a WP based site. localhoney.co.uk is on a UK2 server.

I want to install WP to operate from my hostgator server, setup a full working WP site and redirects etc and then change nameservers to point towards hostgator site.

    ANy help would be great!

    Thanks

    Dave

First, find out if hostgator allows you to access your website through a browser without a domain name (not all hosting providers do). Once you know how to access the website, install it as you normally would. Before you switch over the nameservers, change the two URLs in Settings/General to the new domain.

    Thanks for the reply

I have spoke to hostgator and you cannot access the WP-admin until nameservers are changed.

Im not sure if this would work so again any advice…

    Fully build site at: https://www.maindomain.com/fullsite

Then change fullsite folder to ‘localhoney.co.uk’

    Alter UK2 nameservers

Should point at fullsite built website… hmmmm?

Not sure what needs changing within WP though

Just change the two URLs in Settings/General before changing the domain.
