    Hi Peter,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

All of those tables on my baseball site are accessible via the TablePress admin screens, i.e. in the admin area of WordPress.
So, when I get a result from one of the games (either because I was there in person or someone sends it to me via text message or email), I just go the “Edit” screen of the table and type it in manually.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

Thank you for the reply. Do you think there would be the ability to add or edit results by SMS or some other method that would not necessarily require logging in? It looks like a lot of tables, how many need editing each week or period when games occur?

You mentioned there were other customisations to TablePress on your site. Could you tell me what they are?

    Regards
    Peter

    Hi Peter,

no, sorry, I don’t see a way to edit results in the tables in other ways ?? Due to how the saving of tables works, it is always necessary to edit them in full on their respective “Edit” screens, which requires being logged-in.

I’m not sure what you mean with “customisations to TablePress on your site”. Are you refering to TablePress Extensions from https://tablepress.org/extensions/ ?

    Hi Tobias,

OK I understand. I will have to see how I can minimise the number of tables or at least how I can combine divisions within the same sport.

On your site tablepress.org you mention – (The tables there have a different styling, via “Custom CSS” code, and contain some special features that are not part of TablePress.). I would like to understand what other features you added? and which if any have made the biggest difference to the site and the way you have been delivering the results.

    Regards

    Hi Peter,

ah, now I see what you mean. The main difference is the styling, so that the tables on the baseball site have a different color scheme etc. than e.g. the demo table on tablepress.org.
Then, on https://www.poorpigs.de/baseball/spielplan/saison-2014/ , there’s a link “(nur Spiele der Poor Pigs anzeigen)” which filters the table to show only games of my team. That functionality is some extra JavaScript code and not part of TablePress.

    Hi Tobias,

    Thank you thats great information.

One last question. Is there a way to group tables that can then be individually selected via a drop down menu? This is so I could mange a sport and all its age a skill levels under one drop down menu.

    Regards

    Hi,

no problem, you are very welcome! ?? Good to hear that this helped!

Unfortunately, I don’t know a directly usable solution for that dropdown. Your best choice probably is to create one page for each sport/age/skill level and then manually create the drop downs with some HTML. You can then use JavaScript to switch the pages.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
