Best WordPress hosting site?

  • Currently using godaddy but they are a mess. Maybe do to all the popularity godaddy has had the past few years.

    Which hosting sites do you prefer? Which is the best in terms of load time (primarily fairly small business type sites).

    Also, will the transition from changing hosting plans be difficult? In terms of switching over domain names and wordpress files.

  • I personally have a wordpress site hosted on SiteGround. They have not given me any problems and do have good WordPress support.

    The transition won’t necessarily be difficult, it will just require an investment of your time. You should prepare to set aside a few hours to make sure everything works. Just make sure to get a backup of your database from your current host that you can restore at your new host. In terms of switching domain names, you will need to do some research to see how your current host handles it. It might be possible to keep the domain name with godaddy and only transfer the site to a different server. It would save money on transferring the domain, but check to make sure it’s possible.

    Hi rsanchez, keeping the domain name with godaddy and switching over to another hosting isn’t difficult. You just have to contact your domain’s registrar and have them point your domain to the hosting sites name servers. Thanks for the info btw, I’ll look into siteground.

    Also, how is the lag time on siteground?

    Even though its a small site the load time is still faster than all of the sites I’m hosting with godaddy. Thanks.
