• Updates every few days? Beta test, guys! Sometimes they’re as frequent as WooCOmmerce updates, and that’s not a good thing.

    Hi Kevin,

Did you have any actual issues with one of our recent updates?

You are absolutely right that we have a very iterative development cycle where we sometimes push out releases quite often. If you go through the changelog however, you will note that none of these updates broke any mission critical stuff.

We are one of the few plugins with extensive unit testing set-up and if you’ve been using MailChimp for WordPress for a while, you’ll see that we’re pretty stable. You’re a developer yourself, so you’ll also know that all software has bugs. Especially WordPress software.

Normally, we tend to push out those minor bug fixes every 2 weeks but if circumstances prevent that, we’re not going to hold off on the bugfix release just because “it is too soon after the previous update”.

Take yesterdays update for example, I’m getting on a plane tomorrow after which I’ll spend the next 2 weeks moving my stuff from Asia to Europe. As I’ll be a bit held up in the coming weeks, I released the update to prevent more people from wondering (and ultimately sending us support requests) why a certain thing doesn’t work as expected. Nothing critical, just a few edge cases.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know how I feel as I totally get where you’re coming from, updates for certain WordPress plugins can be scary, but I would like to think we built up some trust with our users over the years. If you have had an issue with one of our updates, please let me know as I’d love to turn this review into 5-stars.

Also, shoot me an email if you want to be on our beta testers list please. ??

    Cheers!
