Better WP Security breaking WordPress scheduler
-
I discovered today that BWPS is apparently interfering with the WordPress scheduler in a way that prevents my backup utility (UpdraftPlus Backups) from kicking off scheduled backups: As long as BWPS is activated, the backup will schedule but won’t start, but as soon as I deactivate BWPS, it kicks off almost immediately. (I went through trial and error with alternately enabling and disabling each plugin, and it’s definitely BWPS.)
This is a new problem. The two plugins had previously coexisted just fine, with backups running as scheduled. I’m not sure what BWPS setting might be responsible. I did make several changes to the settings yesterday: I turned of BWPS’ scheduled database backup (which rarely works because it exceeds the memory allotment), changed the thresholds for 404 lockouts, and added some IP addresses to the ban list.
Has anyone experienced this problem? Any suggestions?
