• In an effort to improve the security of my site (greenfriends.org.uk), I started exploring the Better WP Security plugin.
    1) Backing up the database by email to my address resulted in a message with no attachment.
    2) Attempting to change the prefix of the ‘wp-‘ folders has disabled the site completely both for viewing and for maintenance. I do not know what to do.
    3) Fooplugins, who make the plugin, want $39 for a one-time support token. Will this cure the problem?

You really need to ask them this question.

The site is now up again. I am told that “When you changed the database table prefix it wasn’t written properly to the wp-config.php file. This can happen on hosts with limited memory which is probably what happened in this case. Putting in the correct prefix solved the problem.”
