• The plugin is quite good, but there is one MAJOR MAJOR flaw, which I urge you to consider before using it:

Migrating the site to a different domain/URL, such as when you launch the site causes your existing accordions to disappear. This is an issue which has been raised by multiple people on the support forum in the past, but the issue remains unresolved.

The developer’s advice is to use the WordPress export/import functionality to fix the problem after migration. If every plugin on a typical website required such a workaround, it would make it a nightmare moving from Staging to Live and vice versa.

What is more, using the WordPress export/import functionality does not fix the problem. If I ensure that the empty accordion is fully deleted (from the trash too) and import from a good export file, I get the same empty accordion. An inspection of the database shows that the wp_postmeta table contains two fields that are empty: ‘Accordion_Settings’ and ‘wpsm_accordion_data’. Even copying these fields’ content across from the working site does nothing.

So, in summary, the plugin from scratch is good, but if you are planning to change the domain or URL of the site at any point, BEWARE!! You will spend many wasted hours trying to find out why your accordions have disappeared. An issue almost certainly caused by a fault with the plugin rather than a mistake you have made.

  • Hear! Hear!

Indeed I am having the same issues. It is unbelievable that this developer couldnt’t be bothered to fix this.

I have re-inserted three times the content and I going for a forth one.

This is the first and last time I am going to use it until the developer fixes the issue. Why on earth does the content need to be tied to the URL???
