• So this person created this plugin and says you can scan you business with a listing scan for all your local listings. The problem is they are simply using the “Yext” software platform under their own account.

    What does this mean?

This means every business you enter into the scan, the results will be sent to the developer of this plugin or whoever is the partner on that Yext account.

Go to https://www.yext.com and you will see for yourself that it’s the same exact scan. I know because I am already a Yext partner and I know that if you fill out a scan on the Yext homepage that gets sent direcrtly to the sales team at yext and is their own lead generation tool. Using this tool if you are a web developer or seo person will seriously hurt your business by sending the scan results directly to a competitor who will then solicit your lead, prospect, or client.

You tell me if this is a good idea…and no matter what the response is, the fact is your scan results are not owned nor seen by only you…why even take a chance at losing business?

This might be a great plugin however, until the listing scan is fixed and/or you can attach your own Yext account to this plugin, then it’s not worth even a look.

    Hi thanks for your feedback,
I fully understand your concern but I can confirm 100% this is not correct. The scanned details are not solicited by Yext or anyone else – not even us!
We regularly mystery shop the scanner ourselves to ensure that there is nothing unethical going on and we have never had any solicitation at all not once.
    best regards
