BEWARE OF FRAUD – Took My Money & Disappeared

  • I hate to do this, since I believe the product has merit. But 8 MONTHS ago I tried to get these guys to help me tune up my W3TC settings using their support services. Since they require pre-payment through their plugin, I did just that. It has now been 8 MONTHS without any word or reply. They made contact very early on, to let me know that my tune-up would be scheduled. But since then they have refused to answer any of my emails or provide any explanation. Very frustrating and downright fraudulent.

    At the very least I would have expected an explanation, and an attempt at a refund. But nothing.

    If you’re planning on using this plugin, which I believe can work well, make sure you are comfortable setting it up yourself. As others have said, it is not very straightforward. But whatever you do, DO NOT PREPAY unless you’re willing to risk losing your money.

  • The company I also worked for paid for the ‘pro’ version and for installation. They started to look at the site, we then had to ask them to pause whilst we made some server changes, and then despite repeated email requests they never finished the job ??

    We decided to switch to https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/zencache/ (the paid for pro version) which does pretty much the same job but with a much easier set-up.

    I too love ZenCache pro! Tried this one once and it crashed my site when I minified and combined css etc.

    However, whether this caching or other ones – esp if one is not a developer with coding know-how, I think before any attempts to minify a site etc one should always backup everything – I use BackupBuddy so if need to restore it is simple and fast.
