I’m sorry you’ve had such a bad experience (as we’ve communicated over email, but I’m sharing on this public forum for others who are reading.)
I’ve sent this previous customer a refund as they requested and offered help with their problems were having (removing the “Powered by…” and not automatically converting hyperlinks to footnotes.)
They said:
“The seller has introduced a new hidden customer category called “cheap plans,” in addition to the existing “free users” and “premium plans.” You can only see it in his code!”
In the code I did use label the “Hobbyist plan” as a “cheap” plan. I’m sorry this reviewer took offense at that wording.
They also said:
“Even if a customer has a PAID plan (a premium plan,) the seller evaluates the number of posts in your blog. If the blog is not large enough, the customers are categorized as cheap, and the seller prints the annoying “Powered by Print My Blog & WordPress” advertisement on their prints.”
This has a few things mixed up. The code that evaluates the number of posts is separate from the code that adds the “Powered by” footer (I count posts being printed to warn users with massive blogs that it may cause issues, and so suggest they do smaller printouts.)
The “Powered By” footer is only a requirement for Hobbyist license holders using the premium plugin not hosted on www.ads-software.com. Professional and Business license holders can remove it by checking a box. Also, the free version available on www.ads-software.com doesn’t add it in accordance with www.ads-software.com guidelines and couldn’t anyway because it’s only when using the paid PDF-generating service from printmy.blog that they appear anyway.
The reviewer had purchased a Professional license and so could remove the “Powered By…” footer, but was having difficulty finding the setting (I was in the middle of offering support via email, but the user received an automated email requesting a review which was obviously very bad timing, and it seems they thought I had dismissed their legitimate support request which I’m guessing is what triggered them leaving this negative review.)
So I think the reviewer left this bad review because they mistook an automated follow-up email for a refusal to offer the support they had paid for, they mistakenly thought they could not remove the “Powered by” footer, but also I can make the plugin easier to use (eg I’ll look into making it evern easier to remove “Powered By” footer in the future to prevent these types of experiences.)
