• As a developer, I’ve used (and recommended) this plugin for years. I’ve never had any problems and it has worked flawlessly.
I create “Admin” roles for my hundreds of clients, so they can manage their sites and their users (on the User’s profile page).
With the recent URE update, it disables the ability for my admin users to edit users’ capabilities and to change their users’ roles – it is now only in the “Pro” version. I understand that the developer should be able to get paid for his work… but unfortunately it will be prohibitively expensive for me to upgrade to Pro for all of my clients’ web sites.. even with the “Pro Unlimited” plan.
Very disappointing that I did not realize that this basic functionality was going to be removed.
Sadly, I may have to look into other alternatives after all these years. =(

    Hi,

Any functionality included to a free version is available and will be available for free as always. Just check the list of changes applied to the recent update, compare current version with a previous one.

Pro version is built on the top of a free version as the list of add-ons, which offer the extended features. I never pushed users to update to the Pro version moving to it the functionality from a free version.

I’m sure there is some other reason of a problem you met.
It’s said that you came to a such conclusion and published wrong information without even contact me with support question.
