• Don’t waste your money for this plugin: I bought Google Maps Pro and after one year of use a main feature (adding a location to a map) doesn’t work anymore. I don’t want to pay for an update, as I need only the basic functions, I already paid for. The support offered to look at the problem, but for security reasons, it is a no-go to give an admin-access to a total stranger. It’s not only the wasted money, but the many wasted hours for creating the maps which makes the whole thing so annoying.

  • Hi @schindelbeck

Thank you for your feedback, sorry to hear you had this experience with our plugin.

Our team thoroughly tests the plugin before putting out any releases, we take great care to test all the main features, such as adding and editing markers, the store locator, front and back end display and mapping engines.

We also run compatibility tests within reason, unfortunately sometimes issues do arise.

We do sometimes ask for access to resolve these issues for your convenience, however if access isn’t possible we would be very grateful to receive your console log, debug log or any other information that could help us avoid this coming up in the future.

We can’t support you with the Professional add-on here, but if you would be potentially open to contacting us directly, as the Lead Developer on this project I would like to get this solved for you as soon as possible. We certainly wouldn’t want you to have wasted any time.

Please let us know what you think.

    Kind regards
    – Perry

What they don’t tell you, is even if you pay them, you’ll still have to give google your credit card too to still use those features. And if someone refreshes your page more than 24k times a month you’ll be PAYING google too per load.

    Hi @wired420

Sorry to hear this, we’ve never made any secret of this at all,

We have an FAQ on Google’s API changes that details the billing requirements that came in last June.

Our documentation on Creating a Google Maps API key has a “Set up your billing” section which also highlights this.

We have also supported the OpenLayers engine since May 2019, which you can use if you don’t wish to use the Google API. You can see one of our many OpenLayers demos here.

I do hope that helps, our apologies for any confusion over this matter.

    Kind regards
    – Perry
