BEWARE WP 5.5 breaks onepress site

I wish I would’ve read this before I did the update. Our Hero image is broken as well. I haven’t noticed anything else yet, but I’m hoping they will resolve this issue.

It also messed up the Ultimate FAQ plugin as well. I couldn’t get it to expand them, they would only go straight to the actual FAQ page. Check your customiser to see if all you have in there is the ‘Widgets’ section. Nothing else showed for me, but I also run onepress plus. Might notify them while I’m at it.

Has anyone opened a ticket on this at their site yet?

I did on onepress plus and this is the only other place I’ve posted it. I think for support on PAID themes, you can lodge a ticket but I’m using the free one. They should see it here.

No, I was hoping it was a problem for everyone and that they’d fix it right away. Fingers crossed.

I don’t know what’s going on, but every time I refresh the page, it just gets worse and worse. All the columns are in the wrong order.

Install wpdowngrade plugin and roll back to the previous WP version which is 5.4.2 (it will ask for this).

Okay, got it! However, it still didn’t fix anything. :'(

Did you do a ctrl+f5 to hard refresh your page? Worked fine for me.

Does anyone have a problem with WP Downgrade being Inactive despite proper installation? ??
Now I’m stuck with this.

Same problems with the WP5.5 update.
(broke the hero section)

Used the wp downgrade.
Going back to WP 5.4.2!
As finished the site don′t work (same faults).
I installed WP 5.4.2 in the dashboard again.
Everything works fine….

Same problem. Hero section doesn’t work and several links broke. I cannot revert the update as WP Downgrade goes to the update page and nothing happens. I’m stucked…

The only fix for me at the moment (WP 5.5 upgrade broke everything, WP downgrade plug-in doesn’t work) was to manually downgrade WordPress to previous version 5.4.

It’s pretty straightforward, just remember not to overwrite the “wp-content” folder. Now the whole theme works perfectly again.
