    Hi Dominic,

    Thank you for contacting us!

You’re indeed correct that images in the bfi_thumb folder will not be compressed.
There are hundreds of different plugins that also operate on your WordPress images, and as a plugin developer it is practically impossible to make a plugin that is compatible with every other plugin that is made by the community.

Up to now, only one other user has reported the same thing you report, so it hasn’t really been on our radar to address yet. If we do decide to make our plugin compatible with bfi_thumb, then we’ll surely let you know!

    Thanks for the quick feedback.
I understand completely, I’ll compress the images manually and overwrite them ??

That will indeed work as well ??
Thanks for the feedback about our plugin not working with bfi_thumb images.

I love TinyPNG but I only use on the web interface and not as a wp plugin.
I found this post searching for the bfi_thumb issue described above – I have it too. The problem is these images don’t show up on the image sizes list and therefore cannot be edited via other plugins. I for example would need them custom cropped. I don’t know on which door to knock to ask for the possibility.
What saves images there? Who can do something about it?

    Could you help? Thank you.

    Hello Ravishi,

    Thank you for kind words!

You would need to contact the creator of the theme that you are using to get more information about why /bfi_thumb/ is needed.

I wish you the best of luck!
