Congrats again on Zotpress, a great tool, which now sorts by author and works with CommentPress. But I’m puzzled by setting bibliographic styles beyond the default APA. My vague memory is that this worked for me a month or two ago, but cannot replicate it now.

Here’s where I’m reading your instructions about supported styles:
    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/zotpress/installation/

Here’s my understanding of what supported styles should look like:
    https://www.zotero.org/styles

Here’s my sample bibliography page, on WP 3.1.1 with CommentPress 3.2 modified:
    https://cowriting.trincoll.edu/zotero/zotpress/

    My shortcode is the following:
    [zotpress style="chicago-note-bibliography" sortby="author"]

I have also tried “mla” and “harvard1” and others, and with/without quotation marks, different order, etc.

But the result I’m seeing is always default APA style. Am I doing something wrong?

Nope, you’re not doing anything wrong–this here’s a bug! I’ll be releasing a bugfix release shortly. Thanks for catching this.
