    There was a discussion about this a while back, but I can’t seem to find it. Essentially, Zotpress relies on WordPress AJAX, which means that the content isn’t hardcoded or provided by the server when the HTML page is originally generated. (Zotpress grabs these “settings” and makes a request to Zotero to retrieve the content after the page is loaded.) How search engines cache AJAX-built pages differ, and it’s something out of developers’ control. There doesn’t seem to be a good solution at this time. I’m experimenting with caching retrieved content and displaying it, but this would still require the search engine to “update” their cached version of the page. Ideally search engines will better support AJAX, which is very widespread and popular way of sharing information with APIs on the Internet, for now and the foreseeable future …
