I would strongly suggest to use latest build, here’s why:

    1. Problem with old model – Earlier version used “name & email” entries which meant that anybody can bid. This might seem tempting but there is grave drawback i.e. anyone can sabotage your auction.

Lets say you have an authentic auction running which have authentic bids. Now, anybody can just enter its name & fake email & give a random bid value. This totally ruins your auction.

    2. No support for old model – Since, new model has been released, I wont be able to provide upgrades or support for it.

In the long run, it would always be good if you could only allow bidding for registered user.

Incase you still want old version, kindly download it here: https://auctionplugin.net/plugin/ultimate-auction.zip

NOTE: I’ll remove it once you confirm or else by tomorrow.

    Take care

    Thanks Nitesh,

I have downloaded that – the speed that I need to auction the items means it’s far easier to allow un-registered members.

Can I just install that, and it will override the latest build? Or do I first have to deactivate the latest build?

Either way … will my auctions, and their bids, still remain?

    Thanks,
    Alan

You can deactivate & delete initial plugin and then install old version.
Bids & other info should remain there.

Hi Nitesh, can you repost the link to the older version again? I have an internal auction that I’d like to run, and I’m not to worried about the ‘sabotage’ factor. Thank you!

    Hey Greg,

    Here you go again,

    No support available for it.
NOTE: I’ll remove it once you confirm or else by tomorrow.

    Cheers,

    Hello,
We have downloaded the ultimate auction plug in, version 1.0.2. We are having trouble regarding the bidding page. Once a bid is placed, we are directed to a wordpress log in page. How can this be avoided? We need our auction to be open to the public. This is an urgent matter as our auction is time restricted.
    Thanks,

I’ve a previous version which accepts “name” & “email” & lets you place bids. But there wont be any support for it.

You can download that version here: https://auctionplugin.net/plugin/ultimate-auction.zip

How can we keep the current version (1.0.2.) and allow people from the outside to bid? Can we create a single login & password for bidders in wordpress without them having access to our dashboard?

    Hello again,

We have encountered a problem regarding bids being made on the 1.0.2. version. There are 4 pages which simply do not allow a bid to be made. When we press on the bid button a wordpress message comes up saying “whoops, this is embarrassing, we cannot find what you are looking for”. Why is this happening and how can we rectify it. This is an URGENT request as our auction is currently live!!

    Hi,

Since you’ve confirmed that you are using 1.0.2 version & NOT the zip I provided you earlier, let me know your url to see what exactly is the issue.

Please look at promises # 4, 10, 19 and 22. We cannot make bids on any of them.

I would need a test user/passwd on your site. Could you create & send it across?
Please note that I would place few bids to test promises # 4, 10, 19 and 22. After testing you could end them & reactivate again.

I will need an e-mail address to create your login details. Can you send one over please?

give it as junk. I just need userid/passwd to test

    username: test
    password: auctiontest
