Big corruption/deletion problem

  • I’ve been trying to retrieve my posts from a WP blog that no longer has a domain.

    What I want to do is this. I have another WP blog setup on my server. I still have the files from the original blog. Is it possible to transfer the files which hold the content (posts) to the new blog? Since I can’t access the old blog, I can’t create an export file, so that option is out.

    I hope this makes sense.

  • Your posts are in the database, do you have a backup of the database?

    I’m not sure. There seemed to be two installations of the blog and the tech support at my web host had me delete one and I think that might have been the right one. In my fantastico folder it says “Only manual upgrade possible.” When I look in the sql folder it’s not listed. I’m afraid they may be gone
