There are a lot of different reports in the support forum about problem with missing URL for attribute ‘src’ in tag ‘amp-img’.

It has been going on for many, many months now. But no AMP for WP update solves the problem.

The problem is sporadic, but nevertheless persistent. From time to time these errors start appearing in the Google Search console.

I fix them manually: for each missing ‘src’ look for the missing image url, and then in the WordPress media gallery do Regenerate Thumbnails using the plugin of the same name. Then I command Google to re-check the AMP page.

And that takes a lot of time!

Please figure out what’s going on in the first place.

    P. S. My theme is BetterStudio Publisher. But the problem occurs with many users regardless of the theme.

    I checked everything again.
The error seems to be dynamic. That is, it appears and disappears.

The missing tag is found in the Related Posts block.
I have Related Post by Category, Image is ON, Sort Related Posts Randomly is ON.

As I understand this block is generated dynamically on the fly.
The problem is most likely that AMP for WP is trying to create a corresponding thumbnail for each of the Related Posts. And if it fails, it gets an error.

    Dear Ahmed,

Indeed, the errors have disappeared. After I ran the Regenerate Thumbnails procedure.

Next time they appear again, I will be sure to let you know.
