    Hi,

When an editor modify a page, when he saves the icon elements breaks down.
See the following screen : https://ibb.co/m0jxCrn

the only way to fix it is that an Administrator edit and save the page….

    thanks

    Hi @passce,

I apologize for the trouble you are experiencing. Can you confirm that the user is an “editor” and not an “author”? Administrators and Editors should have no problem adding and saving icons in the Editor. That said, user’s with lesser roles, such as Authors will run into this issue. This is due to the fact that WordPress does not permit users with roles below Editor to save SVG code in the Editor as mentioned in the FAQs.

Unfortunately, there is no way around this at the moment and is a limitation of the plugin. Should something change in WordPress, I will definitely update the plugin accordingly. I am sorry for the inconvenience!

    Best,
    Nick

Thank you for the follow-up @passce, I have reopened the ticket. Are you using an SVG from the provided library or a custom one? If a custom one, would you be able to paste the SVG code here. I will then test on my end and see if I can replicate the issue.

    Thanks!

Thank you for the additional information. Unfortunately, I am still unable to replicate the issue on my end. Would you be willing to provide me with your Site Health Info? This will ensure I am mirroring your setup in my testing.

If so, in the WordPress admin, navigate to Tools -> Site Health and then click on the Info tab. You will see a button entitled “Copy site info to clipboard”. You can then paste the info here or feel free to email it to me at info (at) outermost (dot) co. If pasting here, make sure to remove any personal information. I am really only looking for the ### wp-core ###, ### wp-active-theme ###, ### wp-plugins-active (X) ### sections.

    Thanks,
    Nick

Hi, I send you it on your email right now, thanks!

    Got it, thank you.

I just went through the list of installed plugins and noticed that you are using Members by MemberPress. Do you have any custom settings set for the Editor role?

For example, I am able to replicate the issue if you deny “Unfiltered HTML” for the Editor role. Having the “Unfiltered HTML” enabled for a role is what allows the role to save SVG code. In fact, if you are using Members, you could even turn this on setting for other roles like Authors.

    Let me know, thanks!

I don’t have “Unfiltered HTML” in members… I send you a second mail to show you the interface

    HI @passce,

Thank you for providing the additional screenshot. After some investigation, this appears to be a multisite issue. I did not know this until today, but apparently, the “Unfiltered HTML” option is disabled by default by WordPress for Administrators and Editors in multisite. The setting is only available for Super Admins. Here is a handy article discussing this.

While you can enable this using code, as the article indicates, there is also a plugin that you can download that will enable this functionality. The plugin is Unfiltered MU by Automattic. The plugin description is purposefully cryptic since enabling “Unfiltered HTML” can have consequences that you should be aware of. That said, I have tested the plugin and it appears to resolve the issue.

Let me know if this works for you. If so, I will update the plugin FAQs regarding multisite and recommend these solutions.

    Thanks!

Since the plugin has no updates since 3 years, I use the snippet code and it seems to work !
    Thanks you so much !
