• Hi Kevin
May I ask your advice – please.

I am creating a private site where each user (role: subscriber) may only view one unique category.

Each category will contain posts specifically for that user, and all other categories must be hidden.

The user will not need to create posts just comment on existing posts in their category.

I am looking for the most elegant and simple method to achieve this – bearing in mind new users and categories will be regularly added.

Will CME help me achieve this?

    Thank you
    Brad

CME doesn’t deal with category-specific permissions. Take a look at Press Permit Core:

try using the groups plugin. assign a category or posts you want to a group – a group can be a topic really. Like if you have a course for xyz, you make a group called xyz. if you make it for username call it username, ex: rolfbrown.

or you make all pages password protected and only give a user you want the password to access those posts or pages.

welcome, Brad. if you need to sell access: with woocommerce groups extension you can make a normal product, assign the group to it, charge customer and then it will provide access to that group [the product, i.e., the pages/posts etc for that group level access].
you can hide products from showing up in categories and shop and only give url to product to customer you want. or even use a WC link with add-to-cart for that product and paypal express checkout or Quick Checkout plugin so all is on same page.
