What error message do you get from Bing and what is your website URL?

    (@jvazjr)

It says the site could not be verified

    My URL is https://www.healthandfitness.byethost31.com/wp

The validation code is correctly added so it could be that your server is blocking them from validating the site. Check with your hosting provider to make sure they’re not blocking Bing from that site.

Where would I look in my Chanel with my host?

I would recommend contacting their support.

    If that doesn’t work?

I already contacted them yesterday with no response

There are multiple ways to validate a site.

I would certainly pursue Steve’s recommendation first to ensure that your host is not blocking Bing, as that would be a problem you want to resolve.

Sometimes, when we copy and paste strings into text fields, we might also add an additional blank space character. So you may want to check the string to make sure you don’t have any spaces in front or behind the string.

If it still continues to give you a problem, you might want to try the alternate method, which is to downloaded the html file provided by Bing and uploaded it to your top level directory via SFTP (or FTP, whichever your host provides), then try and verify that way. AIOSEO gives you a text field to make it so that you don’t have to upload the file, but the alternative method is there if you want to use it.

Some people don’t have access to ftp to their server and/or don’t have experience with uploading via FTP, so using the text string is the preferred method. But if you have access via FTP, you should easily be able to upload the file and validate. You may also want to clear your browser cache too, just in case.

If it still doesn’t work, then Steve may be correct in the assumption that your host is blocking Bing for some reason.

Where would I upload the file

If you read my earlier instruction, I wrote you should upload it to your “top level” directory. That means you should upload it to the directory that is the “top level” of all directories you are allowed to view via FTP. In essence, it then sets that upload file as:

    Example: mydomain.com/nameofthebingfile.html

I don’t know what the name of the bing file will be, so the above referenced URL is JUST AN EXAMPLE. Do not rename the file what I wrote. Just upload it and Bing should validate once it’s on the server.

It says I uploaded the file but its still not verifying

Then that’s beyond the scope of advice I can provide here. I’m just giving you alternatives. If nothing is working for you, then you should contact your host and ask them to help. As you can see, if AIOSEO text field doesn’t work and you can’t upload and verify, then you’ve got a larger problem that may be attributable to your host.

I will offer you one final solution. Bing may also provide some string of text for a TXT Record in your DNS panel at your host or domain name provider (wherever you manage your DNS). You can add a TXT record with a string Bring provides. That may work, but if the first two aren’t working, then I’d contact your host and, again, ask them to help.
