Bio Excerpt In Widget

Hi,
Love this plugin and would ideally like to use as sidebar widget. The problem is my authors’ bios are way too long.
Ideally I’d like to be able to show a bio excerpt in widget with a “read more” link to the full bio.
How could I do this?
