Bitly URL Shortener

Mine broke, too. I didn’t change anything but when I go to the bitly site it says “Welcome to the new Bitly” so they may have changed something. Hopefully this plugin author can get it sorted out quickly. ??

Same here. Entered the API Key and account, but none of my urls are shortened when I try sharing them on Twitter. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Seeing how the author has not posted a comment in a year and the plugin has not been updated since last July, I am not holding my breath for this to be addressed. But I am having the same issue.

I have so far found little or nothing through searching about the issue.

I can’t find anything either. However, it is working for me on one website but not on a new one where I just started using it.

It works, you must add the login code by username what is above your api key, not your username itself.

Social Sharing Toolkit isn’t working with Bit.ly anymore and I can’t find any combination of username and API that will fix it. This problem started around the time that Bit.ly redesigned their site and service and it hasn’t work since. If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!

Yes it does ! I have running it on my multiste and it works perfect with Bit.ly

Danielle, I’m glad it works for you but it doesn’t work for me and several other people so you’re not helping us by continually saying “it works for me”. We want a solution to our problems.

I asked Bit’ly support to check out the log-in name and key which are correct. They referred me back to the author since they claim it’s his problem.

It appears as though the author hasn’t replied to any support topics for this plugin in 447 days so this is another one that we can kiss off.
