    hi
thanks for your great plugin. there are two important issues i like to address.
first when png images converted to avif they got black background!
second it should be an option for users to let them delete original images after being converted to avif/webp
    thank you

    Hello @mehdimoradi7172

    Thanks for your feedback.

    1. Please read this doc to understand why the black background issue appears and how to resolve it.
    2. The automatic deletion of original images after conversion is actually already on our roadmap.

    Stay tuned,

    All the best,

    Hi there,

I understand the PHP extension version issue and at the same time, some users can’t change or upgrade that extension to solve the problem.

But in my opinion in this scenario? it’s better to be able to exclude the png images only from being converted to AVIF format, and not to exclude it completely. It’s good idea to check that box te prevent PNG images from being converted to AVIF, but still converted and compressed to webP format.

    Hello @nima78600

    Thanks for your feedback.

There is actually already such an option on the plugin’s settings page to exclude PNG images from being converted. See this screenshot.

It is not checked by default. Users can choose to check it as needed.

yes I know that, but with that option PNG images don’t get compressed and converted at all and we don’t want that, we want it to only don’t be converted to AVIF format, but still get converted to webP format.

I see. We’ve actually not received the same request before, but we are definitely going to discuss it in the team.

Yeah, honestly it doesn’t make sense that just because of the AVIF conversation problem, we also loose the webP conversion.

Please at least give that option to users to be able to allow PNG to be converted to webP in this scenario.

    Thanks

    @tonyrobins thank you

that’s great option, i was also thinking if we have that option to convert png to webp, if we can’t use avif for the problem.
