• I have really enjoyed your plugin, but a recent mistake has created lots and lots of havock.

I accidentally added some IP addresses to be blocked into the enter user agents field instead.

This broke my site and I have after some time been able to restore this.

But now, I cannot remove these from the enter user agents field.

When I delete them and save settigns, they just come back again, regardless of whether I have the feature enabled or not.

I even disabled w3 caching just in case thsi was an issue

Hi dan00neuffer you might like to delete the plugin and start again with a fresh new install.

    Follow the instructions below.

    – FTP to your host and rename this plugin’s folder or delete it.

    – FTP the .htaccess file to your computer and edit and remove all the code between and including the tags:
    # BEGIN All In One WP Security
    # END All In One WP Security

    – Log into phpMyAdmin and locate the dabase for the website you are having problems with. Go to the wordpress “options” table. Look for the row which has the option_name value of aio_wp_security_configs and delete that row.

This has been fixed and will be available in the new version coming soon.

When I try to turn it back on, it says that :
AIOWPS encountered an error when trying to write to your .htaccess file. Please check the logs.
I looked at the error log in my hope directory, showed nothing. Where should I be looking, what do I need to do?

And also, it still has the old details in Enter user Agents even though I followed the above steps!

    Hi dan00neuffer,

it still has the old details in Enter user Agents even though I followed the above steps

This is because the blacklist config is coming from the DB and currently our code doesn’t allow it to be cleared (it’s a small bug) but as stated in my previous response, we have already fixed this and it will be available in the next release.
In the meantime you can leave the blacklist feature disabled.

Ok thanks – I’ll look out for that! ??
