Black overlay prevents me from being able to edit settings

It sounds like a plugin or a theme that is causing a conflict.

yes it was always like that, I actually made a clone of other site.
I think it was a plugin conflict not theme conflict.

Did you find out which plugin caused the conflict? Then I can see what might be the reason in that plugin that it doesn’t work.

So when you disabled wordfence the admin menu showed normally again?

In the layout settings you can change the button color and the button font color. This is where you can change those colors (if you don’t use your own CSS for the items)
