    Hello guys,

I found myself in a bit of a trouble, it appears I can no longer access the admin area. I moved my blog from a dedicated server to a hosting service a week ago and everything worked fine, I installed plugins and I even added more posts. Now whenever I try to login to admin panel it goes blank. It worked just fine last night.
What can I do? I tried to physically delete all my plugins and that didn’t help(I don’t think that’s the issue since it worked fine last night and I haven’t changed anything since)

  • Hi,

There are at least two possibilities (and possibly more):

    1. Your browser having trouble rendering content that it is being sent.
    2. The server is serving up a blank page.

What might be helpful is if you turn on your browser’s development tools while at the blank admin page and see if you can see any obvious errors. Pressing F12 in most browsers invokes the development tools, and the browser might show an error.

If everything looks ok there, check to see if the browser is being served up a blank page. If you view the source of the admin page from within the browser, and find nothing or very little there, then there isn’t much the browser can do to display what you expect. In that case, you’ll need to have a look at server logs to determine why a blank page is being sent to the browser instead of the proper admin page.

Well I already know the server sends a blankpage for some reason. I also know that people have experienced stuff like this before, either because of plugins, themes but somehow those don’t apply to me ??

Try to acces cpanel, and rename the plugins folder, and see that it works!

You can check out this manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required).

Can your hosting service provide the logs (though a dashboard, perhaps) for the various services you are relying on? Should provide an insight into which step is failing.

Please, a link to your site.

It’s most probably a fatal error. You can find out exactly which plugin/theme is causing it by switching WP_DEBUG to true in wp-config.php. Once you do this, the blank page should start showing an error.

I’ve done that and I’ve got nothing.

I asked for professional help and it appears that I had files infected with malware which took over. I can hardly understand what happened there because it was only 3 days old since I moved it to another host.
    No plugin was faulty.

    It is now resolved!
