Blank after auto upgrade to 2.8

I have three blogs. I backed up DB and auto upgraded. Now I get a literally blank page at my url. no error message. no db message. NOTHING.

I’ve had these blogs 5 years. I had upgraded to 2.7 a few months ago manually. This time I tried auto, and it gave me the “upgrade successful” message.

What is up?
