Blank front page

  • Having gone through the READ FIRST posts, I can conclude that my problem is with the theme I chose fairly recently, Cubic. This does not recur when I change the theme. My problem has only been noticed, since when I’m logged in, everything is fine, but when logged out, I clicked on a link and viewed my blog as a visitor; the whole front page was blank, except for the header. The posts were there because clicking on the screen accessed them, but they were invisible. Once logged in, they were all showing as intended.

    I’ve visited your site but haven’t been able to replicate this behaviour on my end. Does this happen in other browsers too or just the one you are currently using?

    When you say the front page is “blank”, do any areas load at all? For example, the header and navigation load but no posts.

    It would be great if you could also confirm which operating system and browser you are using when this happens. Both pieces of information can be found on supportdetails.com.

    I’m checking in to see if you are still having the issue described above when trying to look at your site?

    We will need more details as @gemmaevans mentioned in order to try and replicate the behavior you have described.

    There is no problem viewing the site in Google Chrome on Mac from my end.

    Hi. Thanks for checking. I only got the chance to check this again, and it seems to be working fine now! Very strange since I had tried it before a number of times.

    It actually has! This time on my iPhone, not my laptop. I went to check it on Safari on my iPhone SE and the first page shows only the banner heading. Knowing that the ‘square’ photo link is there but just blank, I tapped on it, went to the blog, and returning to the front page, the links all became visible.

    Anyone visiting for the first time will only see blank whiteness below the banner and not know to tap. So I went back to Safari on my laptop and it’s blank too, only when I return to the front page, it’s STILL blank. Weird.

    Could you grab a screen shot of that blank, first visit, when going to the site?

    Hi there,

    I noticed that on my end as well. Only your site’s header is shown and after a few seconds the rest of it shows up. When I visit your site for a second time it loads way faster because it is already cached in my browser.

    Can you please check if the same is happening if you select a different theme? If it is, then I suggest talking to your hosting provider to see if it’s something on their end.

    Hi,

    I have tried a different theme with a similar look and it seemed ok.

    I was curious to try it on Chrome (I loaded it to use my Chromecast), and my page loads fine on that.

    Can you try a few different browsers and let me know how it goes?

    Downloaded Firefox, Waterfox, Opera, as well as the Chrome. Problem only occurs on Safari!

    Since your site is hosted on WordPress.com, I was able to make an adjustment on our end. Can you please try loading it again on Safari and let me know if the issue is resolved?

    Hello,

    I am having the exact same problem as @grammatteus with my site, using the Cubic theme. It has begun since the last 3 weeks as well.

    When loading the page on Safari, it’s a blank except for the header. Both on desktop and mobile. It loads just fine if I am logged in.
