Blank Images in Library
-
So, my WordPress site suddenly decided to stop uploading images via the Libray->Add New option. It would go through the process, say it’s updated but not generate a thumbnail. However, if I clicked on the image and went to Edit, it would display the image properly.
This led me to believe it was just a thumbnail issue. So I installed ‘Force Regenerate Thumbnails’ and ran it. It found the broken the images, recreated 10 different sized thumbnails for each of the broken images and finished successfully.
However, the thumbnails still didn’t appear. So next I deleted the images, and uploaded them via FTP and used ‘Add From Server’ (as recommended by wpbeginner.com) to register the images with WordPress. I went through and tried to add the images into a WordPress post and they aren’t showing up.
I thought this might be a permissions issue so I tried 775, 774, and 777 for the Uploads folder and have had no luck. The weird part about all of this is that it just started happening mid-uploads. I uploaded four images just fine and then the 5th one started doing this. I’ve cleared all browser cache, tried the site via incognito, and systematically went through and deactivated (though not deleted) the plugins. I made sure that the images are set to be sorted by date as well.
Any suggestions that doesn’t involve reinstall? I don’t mind that seeing as how it’s just a site I’m playing with (which is why I don’t do backups for it), but I want it to be a last resort while I attempt to figure this all out.
