Hi! That’s quite strange! It looks like something is blocking access to the order data, so I think this is a plugin conflict. Can you try turning on/off other plugins to see if that resolves the issue? Let me know if you find something and I’ll see if I can do something about it.
Another possible cause is memory issues that prevent the order object from loading (unlikely but possible).

    Hi Ewout,

It indeed was a plugin conflict. The culprit was the WooCommerce & qTranslate?X plugin.

    Thanks!

I have added preliminary support for qTranslate-X in the development version (on github), although I don’t think it will solve this particular issue. Other users have reported that apart from the order/invoice language, it works (this thread). Perhaps this was introduced in a recent version?

I think your best bet is to contact QTX support and ask them if they know what’s going on…

    Ewout,

The plugin which is conflicting is called “WooCommerce & qTranslate?X”. It’s a different plugin than qTranslate-X because this one and qTranslate-X can be switched off/on seperatly. The conflicting plugin is used to translate the settings of Woocommerce like the email headings and payment methods.

There must be something else going on too though (maybe another plugin conflict), as the OP from that thread wrote:

All of us who use qTranslate-X and WooCommerce plugins are forced to use a free plugin “WooCommerce & qTranslate-X”.

And actually modified part of the WooCommerce & qTranslate-X plugin for compatibiity. Those changes have now been integrated in the plugin core.

Let me know when you find out why this is not working!

It’s getting weird. I just activated the aforementioned plugin which should conflict to check if there really wasn’t another plugin conflicting too, but now everything is working like it should be. So maybe it was just a little glitch?

    Thread Starter Prowello

    (@prowello)

Update: I can not create a propper invoice or packingslip for all the order placed while the mentioned plugin was activated. All order placed after i deactivated the plugin create invoices as it should be. I just placed a new testorder after activating the plugin again, but the problem seems to be back again. Weird.

That’s weird indeed. Sounds like somehow QTX is storing the data differently.
If it’s possible for you to give me temporary access to a (staging) site where I can check this out, please send an email with credentials to [email protected].

    Hi Ewout,

I’m having the same issue as Prowello.

The pdf attached to the confirmation e-mail is working just fine. But when exporting a PDF from the admin section the content of the invoice or packing slip stays empty.

I guess it’s an plugin conflict, but I need all my plugins and am not able to turn them off.

I really appreciate your help. I love the invoice and packing slip template (you did a great job!) and would prefer not switch to another plugin provider.

    Best,
    Bernard

    Hi Bernard,
Without being able to turn off plugins, it will be practically impossible to find out what’s causing this and equally impossible for me to help you…
Regardless of this issue, I would suggest that you set up a copy of your site (so called ‘staging site’), where you can do as much testing as you want. You can also use this staging site to test plugin updates (like big WooCommerce changes) etc. It’s pretty simple to do with Duplicator: create a copy, put it on a subdomain and run the installer – done.

Let me know if you have found which plugin causes the conflict!

One final remark, just in case: The title of this tread mentions a blank invoice, but that’s not entirely correct. The OP got an invoice that had all default elements but the order information was missing. If you get a completely blank invoice, check out the ‘read this first’ thread in this forum!

    Hi Ewout,

thanks for getting back at me so quickly!
You’re right, it’s not a blank invoice I was talking about, rather than an empty template.

I’ll duplicate the site as you suggested and get back at you when I know which plugin was responsible.

    Bernard

    Hi Ewout,

Sorry for my late response. At some magical way the problem fixed itself. After i de- and reactivated the mentioned plugin which i tought was the problem a couple of times, the invoices and packingslip are now working like a charm for all old orders as well for new placed orders. I don’t know why this happened, but it’s working again.

Do you still want to access my admin to check anything? That will not be a problem for me.

    Hi Ewout,

I’ve found out which Plugin is responsible for leaving the invoice-template empty: “WooCommerce Sequential Order Numbers”

For now I’ll deacitvate the Plugin but I’d love to add it later again.
Let me know if you manage to let both work.

    Again, thanks for you help!

    Hi Bernard,
Which version of Sequential Order Numbers are you using? I have:

WooCommerce Sequential Order Numbers 1.4.0 +

    WordPress 4.3.1
    WooCommerce 2.4.7
WooCommerce PDF Invoices & Packing Slips 1.5.22

and it runs without any problems!

@prowello – could this have been the problem in your case too?

    Ewout

    Hi Ewout,

I was running the newest version of everything:
    Wordpress 4.3.1
    Woocommerce 2.4.7
    Packing Slips Plugin 1.5.22
    sequential order numbers 1.4.0

Another guess would be the Plugin “Woocommerce German Market”, since it has the biggest influence on Woocommerce of all my Plugins. Disabling the sequential order numbers plugin has already been sufficient though.

    Best,
    Bernard
