• Sometimes when I edit a post, and I enter blank lines between the paragraphs, those blank lines disappear after I click “save draft.” Other editing does get saved (for example, adding an image, or indenting a quote). It’s generally the blank line between paragraphs that disappears.

By way of further background, I usually prepare my posts in Word, then copy and paste to Notepad, then copy and paste from Notepad to WordPress. This problem happens occasionally but not all the time. One time when it happened, I tried editing a few times, and finally it took. Another time, I opened a new post screen and just re-typed the entire post from scratch, and that worked. I’m hoping there’s a solution that’s easier.

    Thanks for any help.

  • Hi there,

I have had exactly the same problem and am very puzzled by it. The way I get aorund it is to hit space for every blank line I make. So, I click enter > space

as many times I want a blank line. I too find it a bit strange but it looks to be a bit easier than the Notepad thing.

    Good luck

Mia – Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with me. I tried Enter followed by space (for a full line). Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me. the only solution I have found it to open a new window and retype the post from scratch.
