• So, how this all went down. Someone hacked my footer, just when I thought I had it taken care of I was unable to reload files so I DELETED EVERYTHING.
Down to the database, and reinstalled with the new 3.5!

Great awesome, everything was uploaded perfectly, and even checked.

Got into wp-admin, however the front side of the site is a blank page.

    observe here: https://www.julie-len.com

Help? I’ve tried everything, nothing is working.

  • What you have here is a problem with your current theme where there’s a bit of code out of place and the PHP error is not displaying. So, those changes you made? there’s something that became incomplete.

So what you need to do first of all is get your site up, even if it’s not with the same theme, do that by renaming the theme’s directory name so that it reverts to the default theme. (or change the theme in the wp-admin if you’re able)

Then edit your theme that is causing the issue and see what is wrong php wise there, if your hosting has a php error log, that would tell you.

When you are in the admin, can you to to your appearances > themes and make sure that the theme is activated?

Then I would also go through all of your settings and just re-save everything, just to make sure.

If that doesn’t work, try switching to the TwentyTwelve theme.

I do have access to WP-Admin. I never made any changes, I suck at coding.

I’ve tried changing the theme already to twenty-twelve and still nothing. Yes… the theme is activated…

Also, in regards to that error log, Ill paste that little section here

    [Fri Dec 21 05:11:56 2012] [error] File does not exist: /home/name here/public_html/404.shtml
    [Fri Dec 21 05:11:56 2012] [error] File does not exist: /home/name here/public_html/robots.txt
    [Fri Dec 21 03:49:19 2012] [error] File does not exist: /home/name here/public_html/404.shtml
    [Fri Dec 21 03:49:19 2012] [error] File does not exist: /home/name here/public_html/favicon.ico
    [Fri Dec 21 03:47:38 2012] [error] File does not exist: /home/name here/public_html/404.shtml

again, this is a BRAND NEW install of wordpress. But I cant understand why it wants to go to a 404 instead of the index?

Those errors have nothing to do with WordPress. What version of WordPress were you running when your site was hacked?

    Thread Starter JulieLen

    (@julielen)

The one before 3.75. I dont think that matters, because I deleted everything including the database. I didnt even save and upload the old database.

    The one before 3.75.

Sorry? The current version of WordPress is only 3.5

    (@julielen)

    Its a typo.

    the one before 3.5

So you were running 3.4.2? Are you absolutely sure? It is essential that you restore the correct WordPress version.

    Thread Starter JulieLen

    (@julielen)

Why would I have to restore it when I deleted everything and started over with a fresh install? Doesnt make sense.

Did you check your FTP if those files were actually missing? Maybe something went wrong with uploading the WP-install folder. Your’re not using your old data right, a completely fresh install of the DB?

Did you restore any data into the new database?

    Thread Starter JulieLen

    (@julielen)

Yeah, completely fresh install of everything.
The FTP error log showed nothing, wrong during the process. I could try uninstalling and reinstalling completely again ~_~

and no Esmi, read above I already stated that.
