Blank page after 4.2.2 update

  • I upgraded to wordpress 4.2.2 version in my website https://www.marianamorena.com.

    After upgrading to wordpress 4.2.2 version, My website was completely down.The website is not live now.The BLANK WHITE WEB PAGE is getting displayed, when I tried to open the website.

    The SAME BLANK WHITE WEB PAGE is getting displayed,when I am trying to access my website through ADMIN LOGIN.

    When I type the ADMIN LOGIN url,BLANK WHITE WEB PAGE is getting displayed.I am unable to access through ADMIN LOGIN as well.

  • I have seen this happen when a plugin or theme either not compatible or didn’t update properly can affecting. Usually [where I work] you can test by disabling the plugins by renaming the plugin folder as “plugins-bak”. Try doing a hard refresh using F5. If not, you can undo that and do the same to the cache folder. Theirs a few other options if you have access tot eh database but I don’t want to fill this response with too much to confuse you. I work In Web Hosting and deal with many WordPress users so hopefully the generics of this helps you.

    I rename the plugins folder, one by one and it changed something.

    No I got the following error:

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare get_avatar_url() (previously declared in /home/storage/b/18/9e/site1365100109/public_html/wp-includes/link-template.php:3414) in /home/storage/b/18/9e/site1365100109/public_html/wp-content/themes/ninezeroseven/functions.php on line 807

    I deleted some problematic lines in the functions.php but it still happening.
    The /wp-includes/link-template.php don’t even exists.

    Any idea?
