  • I detected this bug on three websites.

    Provisional fix:

    1. Rename /wp-content/plugins folder to /wp-content/plugins_
    2. Access to your WordPress
    3. Rename /wp-content/plugins_ folder to /wp-content/plugins
    4. Access to Plugins and deactive JetPack by WordPress.com
    5. Active it again, but DON’T reconnect it with WordPress.com

    Guys, please fix this bug.

    Kind regards.

    Deactivating Publicize works too.

Active Publicize again, reconnect all your accounts/pages and WordPress still working.

    Kind regards.

I reconnected with WordPress after turning publicize off and on again and my sites are now all working.

Same here, WSOD after updating to 4.0 but I got it fix by rolling back to 3.9.6. I’ll wait for a fix before updating to 4.X.

re-enabled, deactivated publicize. Site worked for around 40 minutes before falling again.
Plugin is being disabled until updated.

    Sorry everyone for the trouble!

To get rid of the error, you can log in to your site via FTP or CPanel, and delete the existing Jetpack plugin folder:

You’ll find the Jetpack plugin folder here:

    wp-content
       plugins
         jetpack - DELETE THIS FOLDER

If you’re not sure how to do this, you can ask your hosting company for help. They should also have documentation explaining how to edit or remove files from your site using FTP or a File Manager in your admin panel.

After that’s done, you can reinstall the version of Jetpack prior to 4.0, which is 3.9.6. You can download it here:

    https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/jetpack.3.9.6.zip

3.9.6 will ask you to upgrade to 4.0, but just ignore that for now until the GitHub issue above is resolved.

We’re also working on a new release to fix the problem, and you can follow our progress here:
    https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/3697

I’ll also post again here once that release is ready.

    Sorry again for this!
