• Hi,

I used the automatic update function and everything seemed okay (I think it said that the update was a success) but then the page changed to a white page with no text at all. The url for Admin shows https://www.mysite.com/myblogfolder/wp-admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=%2Fmyblogfolder%2Fwp-admin%2F
My WordPress folder isn’t named “WordPress” – could that be a problem? Never had problems with that before…

Also my website wouldn’t show anymore (white page). I tried to rename the plugin folder and my theme (to revert to default) but none of that helped. I had to delete my wordpress folder and insert my backup – then it worked again (but it is 3.6). What can I do? I have tried a couple of times with same bad result.

Btw: Is there any difference between renaming the plugin folder (to deactivate all plugins) and deactivating all plugins manually from the Admin? Is it just as good?

    Thanks

  • I have exactly the same problem after updating, on two WordPress installations … thanks a lot to my server’s backup, I restored everything. and back to normal.

Now I have no idea how to fix it. maybe will wait until more users come in with the sae problem.

@astrasuite – actually, please start your own thread – as per the troubleshooting master list:

Do make your own topic unless you are using the exact same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme and configurations as the original poster. You may find it weird, but it will be easier for us to help you specifically if you have your own topic.

It is weird alright. Normal etiquette is don’t duplicate posts.

Ok, I will start the same topic exactly …

Reset your themes, permalinks, plugins folder. This will put your site back up in the 2013 theme.

Then log in to your WP Admin, put your them back and reactivate all of your plugins. That’s what I did, anyway, when I got my blank page.

Thanks ussvisioninc! It works now – it wasn’t enough to just rename the themes and plugins folder, I had to do it from within Admin (not that you have said anything else).

And yes, astrasuite, it is weird that you can’t make a comment, that you have the same problem, but that is apparently the rule in this forum. It was good to know that I wasn’t the only one with this problem. Hope you have fixed your problem too.

@spiril, yes the author of the problem plugin is working on a fix ??

@astrasuite, that’s good – I just found out that the plugin “Plugin Organizer” probably caused my problems. I can see that others also got problems with that plugin after updating to 3.7 – not sure if you are one of them…

@spiril, yes, I am one of them …

@astrasuite, Okay, maybe you have already updated wordpress to 3.7.1 but just want to let you know that it fixed my problem and the plugin works again. :o)
