    Hi

OK I updated my wordpress, but I did a mistake and forgot to turn of the plugins and now I get a blank index page on the main site and I get this msg on the admin =

You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

I have searched around and it looks like its because I didn’t de-activate my plugins, so how do I do this from the database?

I tried an old way but the sql didn’t work, can any one please help with this problem?

  • I’m not sure you needed to be so quick as to reinstall but it sounds like you could possibly have a corrupt or modified table..

Did you have any plugins installed that could have modified one or several of the WordPress tables, such plugins can break upgrade routines because they alter the structure of the database from what it would have been in a regualr installation.

Does your host keep backups, or do you have one prior to when you ran the upgrade? ..

I dont no with my host, but don’t think they will.

for plugins I cant fully remember, but

    google adsense
    stats thing
    spam stopping thing

think that’s what I had in, not great though sorry, I know i didnt have loads of plugins in

what it was, I had to update my database from mysql 4 to 5 and I did it all the wrong way round then realised, so I messed up to be honest I cant even think now how or what I did lol

Would there be a way to say take some of say:

    categories
    blog posts + titles

or something like that, then just drop the tables in a new database and add the old ones in the place, just mainly for the content of the blog posts and categories?

So I think I have got my content back

What I did was went and installed a new fresh wordpress database, then I looked through my old back up and deleted the tables below then installed just these tables from the back up sql

    wp_postmeta
    wp_posts
    wp_terms
    wp_term_relationships
    wp_term_taxonomy

So now my site seems to be all back apart from the style but I am not to bothered about that at the moment anyway as I can sort that all out.

I think the error was somewhere in my wp_options but hay I wouldn’t fully no for sure.

AGAIN I would like to thank you for replying to me and helping out
